A London-based multidisciplinary artist and musician, Kenichi Iwasa’s practice is rooted in improvisation and an instinctive approach to sound. During his residency at Nextones Festival 2026, he explored the sonic possibilities of a hybrid flute-horn instrument, adapting to the surrounding acoustics and natural landscape.
This openness to the unexpected resonated with Massimo Osti Studio. Like Iwasa with music, the Studio uses experimentation to explore new textile possibilities, treating error as part of the creative process. For this reason, the connection felt immediately organic, and the medieval village of Ghesc where the residency took place felt like the perfect location for this shoot.
